E-commerce in India is a rapidly growing sector, driven by increasing internet penetration and smartphone adoption. Opportunities include vast market potential, growing demand for online shopping, and government initiatives like Digital India. However, challenges like intense competition, logistics issues, and regulatory complexities need to be addressed. This study explores the opportunities and challenges of e-commerce in India, providing insights into its growth prospects and future directions. E-commerce stands for electronic commerce. It can be defined as the use of internet to facilitate, execute and processes business transaction. This transaction is basically between the two parties and has the ability to pay online. It also constitutes the exchange of products and services between business groups and individuals. Businessman can spread his business at international level with the help of latest internet technology In the light of findings the present paper makes an attempt to: highlight the challenges of e-commerce in India. E-commerce involves an online transaction. It provides multiple benefits to the consumers in the form of availability of goods at lower cost, wider choice and saves time. The general category of e-commerce can be broken down into two parts: E-merchandise: E-finance This paper is an attempt to throw light on the present challenges in India.
