ANALYSING PSNR OF VARIOUS EDGE DETECTION MECHANISMS TO KNOW THEIR SENSITIVITY TO NOISE
Keywords:
Edge detection, Canny Edge detection, Sobel operator, technique, boundaries of objectsAbstract
The Edges are boundaries between different textures. Edge also can be defined as discontinuities in image(picture) intensity from one pixel to another. edges for an image(picture) are always important feature that offer an indication for a higher frequency. Edge detection is an image(picture) processing technique for finding boundaries of objects within images. It works by detecting that discontinuities in brightness. Edge detection is used for image(picture) segmentation and data extraction in areas such as image(picture) processing, computer vision, and machine vision. Common edge detection algorithms include Prewitt, Roberts, Sobel, Canny methods.
