Energy Efficient Protocol to Increase Network Life in WSN
Keywords:
Wireless Sensor Networks, energy efficiency, LEACH protocol, sensor nodesAbstract
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a new technology foreseen to be used increasingly in the near future due to their data acquisition and data processing abilities. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consists of sensor nodes. The sensor nodes are able to send data to each other. When sensor node sends data to each other, either their life time decreases or nodes will become dead node. To maintain the energy efficiency of any node or network, some protocols are developed. To overcome the limitation of LEACH protocol, another protocol has been developed i.e. EEP. This protocol select cluster head (CH) and also vice cluster head on the basis of energy. This paper presents how life time of network can be increased.
